The aim of the Corvinus Safety App is to provide instant warning to students about events around Europe that may put the students' health and safety into risk while they study abroad. If an incident happens in Europe (for instance a terrorist attack), the student gets a warning notification via the Satefy App. In this notification the student receives information on what happened and where and is asked to reply whether he/she is "Safe" or "Not Safe". The app keeps on sending the warning message until the student responds. Student also has the possibility to immediately call the Corvinus Emergency number via the app if s/he is not safe. The status of the responses are shown on the admin's incident report page (Safe, Not safe, Not sent or Sent, not answered). "Not sent" are all those students who either does not have a registration, their phone is switched off or they're online. Under the "Sent, not answered" category are all those who have received the warning message but yet to respond. Students are asked to register on the application during their first week; firstly they receive a link through which they can give and activate their password. Afterwards they are asked to download the app from Google play or Apple store onto their phone and login with their email address and the confirmed password.
